BLOOD DRIVE

As many of you already know, my wife and I had a child 6 months ago with multiple heart complications.  Jenifer and I have been so humbled in all that has been given to us since our son’s birth.  One way that we feel we can give back is by having a blood drive.  Jenifer and I will donate the blood raised during the drive to the non insured Cardiac families at Children’s Medical Center.  We have witnessed firsthand the miracles that happen in this facility and want to give back.  There is a lyric from a song that has been out theme/anthem during all of this.   It is, “I’ve seen miracles just happen, silent prayers get answered, broken hearts become brand new”.

The blood drive is this Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Carrollton (Midway and George Bush).  There are two flyers attached.  One from Carter and one that we put together.  You should call Carol Slawson (972-447-9887) to schedule a time.  However, walk-ins will be accepted.   The drive is from 8:30am to 1:30pm in the Fellowship Hall (just go to tallest building on the property).  This is a Sunday and the worship times are 8:00am, 9:30am, and 11:00am.  You do not have to go to Prince of Peace to donate blood in Kaleb’s name.  You can go to any Carter blood center at any time.  Just give them his sponsor number 020727 and your blood will be donated in his name.

Currently, Kaleb is scheduled to have his big heart surgery in the latter part of March.  The exact time is pending.  Many of you may want to know what type of complications he has.  I’ve updated our blog http://babyprinz.blogspot.com describing his multiple heart complications and what type of surgery we are shooting for in March.   We have also developed a T-shirt that we will wear the day of his surgery.  We may or may not have this t-shirt available for you to buy or sell as a donation to Children’s.   More to follow on the blog in the upcoming weeks.

Please keep us in your prayers and if you can, please donate and help with all the miracles at Children’s Medical Center.  All are welcome.
